DCA seizes 33 varieties of drugs at quack’s clinic in Hyd

In a swift operation conducted by the Drugs Control Administration (DCA) officials of Telangana, a raid was carried out on January 4, 2024, at the premises of Mohd Abdul Wajeed C/o Life Care First Aid Centre at Chandanagar in Hyderabad. Wajeed, purportedly posing as a ‘Rural Medical Practitioner,’ was found allegedly stocking and selling medicines without proper authorization.

Hyderabad: In a swift operation conducted by the Drugs Control Administration (DCA) officials of Telangana, a raid was carried out on January 4, 2024, at the premises of Mohd Abdul Wajeed C/o Life Care First Aid Centre at Chandanagar in Hyderabad. Wajeed, purportedly posing as a ‘Rural Medical Practitioner,’ was found allegedly stocking and selling medicines without proper authorization.

During the raid, DCA officials unearthed 33 varieties of medicines, encompassing antibiotics, cough syrups, antacids, anti-ulcer drugs, and antihypertensive drugs, among others, with a total estimated value of rupees twenty thousand. These medicines were reportedly being stored without the necessary drug license, prompting the officials to seize the entire stock. The operation was spearheaded by diligent officers including A. Shylaja Rani, Drugs Inspector, Serilingampally, G. Ravi Kiran, Drugs Inspector, Rajendra Nagar, and D. SwethaBindu, Drugs Inspector, Gandipet. The samples collected during the raid have been forwarded for analysis, and further investigations are underway. The authorities have affirmed their commitment to taking lawful actions against all offenders involved.
